WWKIP day …. starts this weekend!

WWKIP (from the Arctic Circle on down!)

So, this weekend is the start of World Wide Knit in Public Day (which now runs a full week!).

Guess what I’ll be doing at IHM this Saturday???

And then of course, I’ll bring my knitting to rehearsals on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday …

and hmm, I’m sure I could figure out a place to publicly knit on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday … get the picture?

Anyone want to join me for a KIP day?

I followed your link from Ginny’s Yarn Along and also remember you as I used to mostly lurk on the 4real boards…anyway, I wish I had seen this earlier, I would have done this for sure! πŸ™‚ my girls and I are just learning to knit. My 9th old takes her knitting to all of her little vrother’s t-ball games! πŸ™‚

    Candace,

I remember you from 4Real! How fun that y’all are learning to knit … and WWKIP actually goes a full week so y’all can still be knitting away. I always knit in public … I got a lot done at IHM conference last week! Have you seen my book, Great Yarns for the Close-Knit Family? There are 12 great read-alouds summarized with over 2 dozen unique designs inspired by these books. Perfect fit for a CM-style homeschool.

Hugs and so glad you stopped by …

Mary, thanks for the book link! I vaguely remember the mention of a book you had written! How fun! Would you say that the easiest project in your book would work for the very early beginner?? We have a dear friend teaching us to knit but we have only had one lesson thus far. You can see in my picture on my blog that we are very simple yet. πŸ™‚ I really do love the idea of read alouds and knitting!! Why didn’t I think of that already! Ha! Also, I am so happy to have clicked on your link today…I am going to put your blog in my google reader for continuing inspiration!! πŸ™‚

    Candace,

The book has all levels …. from very easy to a bit more advanced, but all doable! Kacky emailed me a year or so ago and said her daughter actually learned to knit by using my book. Depending on where you are … you’d be able to see the book at a conference where Hillside Education would be (check Margot’s website or email her for conference dates).

So glad to reconnect … and holler if you have any knitting questions … I LOVE talking knitting …

    Mary G.
