Yarn-along: more finished objects = not so much reading …

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Yarn-along -- October 12, 2011

Here are my finished objects for the week … as you can see, I’ve been busy.

I finally finished up the “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend shawl” (pattern will be posted this week) and the “Charcoal Pearl scarf” (pattern available here). This weekend, I designed the felted Christmas bowl (pattern will be posted this week) that I knit while Kit and I watched chick-flicks and the boys watched football. What do you think?

All this knitting means that I haven’t been reading much lately! It’s always a trade off, but when I can, I love to knit. I have some books on audio that I’ll start playing on my Kindle and that might get more “reading” done …keep forgetting I have that capability! But we did finally find a great read-aloud for the family: The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin (which I’ve never read) is a clever mystery embedded in an excellent story. Raskin is a wonderful weaver of tales and I’m thinking, when we finish this one, we’ll go ahead and read Figgs and Phantoms or The Mysterious Disappearance of Leon (I mean Noel). I’m also still working my way thru May’s book, Catholic Sexual Ethics … which is amazingly readable and interesting! Review to follow when I’m done.

Won’t you come play along with us … check out ginny’s post and join in the fun!
