Yarn-along: Christmas is coming ….
~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. We’re just finishing our first week of December and I’ve been busy!
I finished up Mrs. Claus and the Santa’s sack (filled with yarn and knitting needles of course) … made some candy cane ponies for my boys’ club guys (I used candy cane pens so the boys could EAT their candy canes and still have a nice ornament for their tree) … and am about half-way done with another Malcolm’s Stocking (this one for KP’s IDP, so it will be a generic, non-personalized stocking).
BTW, I’ll be posting my notes about the making of Mr. and Mrs. Claus dolls on the Dog House Yarn blog [part one is here … part two will be posted next week] … I’ll be sharing what I changed, what I liked about the design and what I didn’t like.
On the reading front, we just finished The Future Door … and boy was it good! (In fact, we just lent it to a friend’s 12-yod and she devoured it in an evening or two!). Here’s my full review in case you have someone on your list who loves mysteries and good story-telling. I think we’ll start Mara: Daughter of the Nile as our final read-aloud for the year — it comes highly recommended. I just finished Three Cups: A Lesson in Life and Money for Children (my review here) and am about to start on For the Love of Knitting, a very cool book that I got from St. Nick and one I’d bought to send to a dear friend who is really getting into knitting, God bless her!
So what are you knitting and reading? Won’t you come along and play with us over at Ginny’s?
