The Brigid Collection: my goal for the year
It’s been a week since I’ve posted … but that is no indication of my knitting work which has consumed much of my time (as has starting the homeschool machine back up and running this week).
Bottom-line? I’ve been busy!

The Brigid Collection
My patron saint this year is St. Brigid of Ireland (who is also known as St. Brigid of Kildare and Mary of Gael). And since I’ve put my year under her protection and intercession, I figured I should give a little back by dedicating a design each month in her name.
Thus was born The Brigid Collection!
Each month, on or around the 15th of the month, I will post a new Celtic-inspired design with this logo … some will be classic cable-knit styles, some will be knitted Irish lace, and some will be colorwork inspired by the Emerald Isle.

The Killarney Caubeen
My version was inspired by one of my favorite Bing Crosby Christmas songs: Christmas in Killarney, particularly the opening lines:

... the holly green

the ivy green ...
The holly green, the ivy green, the prettiest picture you’ve ever seen
What do you think? If you love Irish-inspired knits, please do check back each month (around the 15th) … and see what I’ve cooked up for The Brigid Collection!
