Sittin’ and knittin’ in the foothills …

Dog House Yarns -- Culpeper, VA
This year, the main speaker is Melissa Weaver Dunning — a weaver, spinner and knitter wo is also an expert on the history of knitting in the British Isles. Her talks will include and story-telling/music performance as well as detailed information about all types of British Isle knitting (Aran, Fair Isle, ganseys and jerseys, etc).
After one of those amazing Graves Mountain all-you-can-eat Southern lunches, we’ll split into two groups. One group will learn from Melissa about how best to use hand-painted yarns while the other group will hear me chat about color-knitting. I will focus on the different techniques for adding color to your knitting (intarsia, stranded, slip-stitch) and we’ll also work on a stranded-work sampler that can be used as a baby-hat or made into a unique wall-hanging.
Rosanne has scheduled time for shopping with the dozen vendors selling all things knitterly!
The day will end about 5:00 pm. Not a bad deal for $60!
Registration formally opens on Wednesday, Feb 15; space is limited so get the form and fee back quickly as the Dog House Yarn retreats fill up fast …
