Yarn-along — designs posted, more knitting and a bit of reading!

Wednesdays are always such fun … playing “yarn-along” with Ginny and friends, staying home and cranking thru school work and read-alouds, and no clubs/activities to go to at’ll! It’s a great day.

Yarn-along -- February 15, 2012

This week, I’ve finished up some designs … posted others on Ravelry and Craftsy … I’ve also been hard at work on my super-secret for-publication design, which I can’t show y’all but know that it is coming along very well! In the picture to the right, I’ve finished the “vest from H…”, making it into a glorious cashmere shawl that is soft and sensual and very sophisticated. I’ll be posting that design later today.

On the reading table — we’re still reading The Emerald Casket … the second in the Archer Legacy trilogy. It is such a great story with lots of action and mystery, but still with humorous bits. The kids and I are really enjoying it. I’m reading (and LOVING) Deborah Newton’s Finishing School: A Master Class for Knitters — which is a great “beyond the basics” text that covers blocking, seaming, edgings, buttons, zippers … etc. It is a wonderful reference with clear, concise explanations that she illustrates with actual designs. Definitely a keeper!

These are my two designs posted this week ...

I’ve also posted Chroi Thine (Hearts on Fire) cowl and Red Sky at Night poncho on both Ravelry and Craftsy, so you have your choice where to buy these gorgeous designs to make your own.
