Yarn-along: knitting in the New Year while finishing “old year” projects …

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~ Ginny at small things

GOOD morning and a very happy New Year to you all.
My yarn-along today is heavy on knitting … projects finished and what’s on the needles:

  • I finished up my Andean Winter poncho on the road-trip down to SC to visit in-laws. I was able to publish the pattern on Monday, just getting it in on the design-count for 2012! What do you think of this quick-knit (it’s done in Encore Chunky … and knits up fast on #11s!)?

  • I finished up a lacy-poncho done in a fun, fuzzy sequined yarn — I just need to get a few pictures of that one and then I’ll be posting Winter Leaves as my first design of 2013! Well, here’s a link to the design on Ravelry… and a picture:

  • I finished up a fun scarf for Kit — knit with pink yarn with a metallic thread running thru (Feza Yarn’s “Jewel”) it’s a perfect scarf for the almost-teenager! Pictures to follow once she “opens” her stocking on Little Christmas (January 6th).
  • Started work on a pullover vest for HamBone — knit with Kraemer’s Perfection (in a dark charcoal grey color called “Granite”) it’s knitting up nicely (at least the rib is) and I’m hoping to get it finished this week so I can work on more exciting knitting.
  • So just a bit of knitting …. if you’d like to see my published designs for 2012, I compiled them all into one gallery-post; all (except Emma’s Chemise) are available on Ravelry (and many are on Craftsy, if you don’t do Rav). I also posted a final, year-end yarn-along post last Wednesday in case you didn’t see that one.

I of course have lots of “real” stuff to do — end-of-the-month/end-of-the-year reports for my design work, lesson planning in time for homeschool to start up again on the 7th of January, and other stress-filled activities. But I’m thinking I’m going to wait one more day and knit a bit …

How ’bout you … want to come play with us over at Ginny’s?
