Yarn-along – of spring knits and spring clothes and a sneak peek
~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~ Ginny at small things

On a sad note, please say a prayer for the repose of the soul of my LYS owner. She passed away yesterday morning after a short fight with pancreatic cancer. I’ve worked for her for the past 3 years or so and have gotten to know she and her husband very well. She will be greatly missed. Please also say some extra prayers for her husband who is pretty much devastated. THANKS!
So spring knitting — are you doing any? On my needles right now, I’ve got the most lusciously colored cotton yarn. It’s a skein of Snow 2 from Wolle’s Yarn Creations … a lovely natural creamy white that slowly shifts to a pale grey. If you look closely at the knitting already done, you’ll see the slight shift from the cream to just a tad bit of grey. I started this in order to wear it Saturday evening at the Pope John Paul the Great Annual Gala. I have a black linen dress that will look stunning with this atop!
On the reading table, other than finishing up homeschooling, planning for next year, and sneaking in reading of my latest Agatha Christie, I’ve got my favorite catalog to read: The J. Peterman Company “Owner’s Manual No. 117”. I love this catalog and the clothes and the provocative descriptions. If I could afford it, I’d buy my whole wardrobe from these guys — especially after I lose a bit of weight (and dh has already decided he’s my personal trainer … and he is TOUGH!). Such fun clothes that are classic and well-made and really good looking.
ETA 0740 — Ooops … I forgot to add a sneak peek at a couple of designs I’ve got just about ready to post … an autumnal cowl (with a nice big t-neck … and fun colorwork) and an uber easy cowl that takes advantage of the colors in the yarn to really pop:

… a sneak peek at a couple of designs
I’m off to work some more on my Gorgeous Gala top … wanna come play?

oh dear! I am so sorry to hear of the repose of the LYS owner, how sad and very difficult! if you could, do send me an email with their first names and we will pray for them here and light candles by our kitchen icons…
