Yarn-along: of cozy shawls and cozy books

Yarn-along: June 25, 2014

Good morning!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a yarn-along post … mostly cuz I’ve been uber busy (not even sure what happened to April and May) and not knitting so much.

BUT … now I’m back.

I was working on a lovely shawl/poncho in Schaeffer Anne … but kept having to visit the frog-pond (ripp-it ripp-it) so set it aside. Now, I’ve started on a fun, heavy worsted wool/acrylic blend that is in a great colorway (pinks and purples and just cool). I got this yarn in a swap and really like it. It’s fluffy so it won’t be a heavy shawl. This will be a shawl for fall … and it’s knitting up like a dream (so I guess I’ve gotten my knitting-mojo back, at least somewhat!).

On the reading front, I’m devouring Agatha Christie’s short stories … The Complete Miss Marple Collection AND The Complete Hercule Poirot Short Stories … such fun reading.

So what are y’all working on … any good summer reads you’ve found?sig block

I love the yarn AND the pattern. It looks like it can be memorized after a few rows but still very interesting. Glad the mojo is back! That always feels good 🙂

Sometimes yarn just has a mind of its own and refuses to play nice!
