As I mentioned in the previous post, we are starting a new year … which means a whole new crop of patron saints for us to learn about, ask for prayers to, and generally get to know a bit better! This year, we each chose our own saints … and here they are:

HotRod’s saint: St. Sebastian — “always thought his story sounded cool”

Kit’s saint: St. Clare of Assisi; Kit will make her Confirmation in September 2013, and St. Clare is her chosen saint for that special sacrament.

HotRod’s saint: Blessed John Paul the Great since he hopes to attend the high school in the Fall and knows how much JPtheGreat loves the youth!

Dh’s saint: St. Bernard of Clairvaux, the Mellifluous Doctor of the Church; dh is anxious to read and study about this 12th century abbot who gave awe-inspiring sermons and gave profound teachings to one and all

my saint: St. Andrew of Scotland … I want to learn how he came to be the patron and to understand more about the wonderful novena prayer attributed to him.

Would you like to join us on our patron-saint journey …
