Malcolm’s Christmas Stocking – a fun knit with heirloom looks!

My design today is for a fun Christmas stocking … knit in the round from the toe-up, this design is a great way to practice knitting socks. Using a DK-weight cotton yarn in great, classic Christmas colors, you’ll soon have this one ready to hang!

The sample shown is knit with Knit Picks Cot-Lin in
MC: Moroccan Red (2 sks — 250 yards)
CC1: Swan (approx 75 yards)
CC2: Nightfall (approx 75 yards)
CC3: Sprout (approx 75 yards)

There is an alphabet chart (with a blank grid for charting) for you to personalize the stocking. If you don’t want to personalize this stocking, I’ve included two other possibilities for that “block” — a candy-cane diagonal or holly leaves.

The stocking is lined, using a piece of Christmas fabric to coordinate with the colors used. You’ll need about 1/2-yard of 44” fabric. The lining is machine-sewed but hand-sewn into the stocking.

This design, and all my Christmas designs, are 25% off on Ravelry from now thru Dec24th … just use code “BHWHXmas”. If you aren’t on Ravelry, please email me with which designs you’d like and I will work up a Paypal invoice for you.
