Yarn-along: teaching and learning
~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~ Ginny at small things
Today is the Feast of St. Joseph, a solemnity which means that all Lenten sacrifices are “lifted” for the day. We just got home from morning Mass (with a quick drive thru MickeyD’s for breakfast for the kids) and now ready for a fun day of school and baking treats for dh and HamBone. LOVE being Catholic and celebrating the saints and the liturgical year.
My yarn-along will be brief: I am teaching a basic knitting workshop this weekend down at Spring Gate. I’ll have five or so participants eager to learn as much as I can teach them about knitting, and particularly about knitting with luxury fibers (such as Jane’s cashmere). The projects we’ll work on later in the weekend include the lace sampler bookmark (the rose colored pieces) and an easy beaded-cuff bracelet (the natural white piece). I’m a firm believer in pushing new knitters to do more than garter-stitch scarves!
On the reading table, I’m learning about how to improve my spiritual journey … to be a better Catholic … to live the life God would have me live. I’m thoroughly enjoying reading the sermons and speeches from Encountering Christ … and then I’m anxious to start St. Patrick’s Confessio … very cool stuff!
