~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~ Ginny at small things

The problem with the end of the traditional school year? Great weather … work coming to closure … longer days. This adds up to not much reading going on around here. We’re too busy hiking and swimming at the Lake and generally being out more than we’re in. So, no new books to record this week, altho we did finish Horten’s Miraculous Mechanisms, a book which proved to be as much fun to read as we originally thought. I’m not sure if I’ll start another read-aloud or just wait till Lissa’s Prairie Thief arrives …

Yarn-along: May 23, 2012 .... KP Rib Tickler and YoI Chiara Mia

But never fear … I still got lots of knitting done this week! I finished the Rib Tickler version that I will submit to Knit Picks for their IDP. This one is done with KP’s Comfy Worsted in Fairy Tale … the yarn knits up wonderfully and is a nice blend of cotton and acrylic. I’ll post pix as soon as I can get dh to photo me in it.

I’ve also got a good start on a lacy-cardi design using Yarns of Italy’s Innamorata DK (an extrafine merino wool). It’s a top-down, raglan cap sleeve cardi in a lacy eyelet rib that I tentatively named Chiara Mia (My Clare) … which is funny because the yarn I chose for the design after I named it is colorway “Chiara”, a lovely charcoal gray.

I can’t wait to see it finished ….

So what are you reading (or NOT reading) and what’s on your needles … won’t you come play with us
