Yarn-along: lots of knitting … not so much reading!
~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~

Yarn-along -- February 8, 2012
This week, I’ve been doing more knitting than reading! My books, Seek First the Kingdom and The Crafter’s Guide to Taking Great Photos, have taken a back-seat to getting knitting done in order to clear the needles for an accepted garment that has a very short deadline — I’m waiting on the yarn and then I have till the end of the month to knit the sample and draft/grade a pattern in SEVEN sizes. But I still slip in a bit of reading …
Our current read-aloud, The Emerald Casket, is the second in the Archer Legacy series and is proving as well-written (and fun to read-aloud) as the first. Excellent family read-aloud!
On my needles? It’s a good thing I can knit and watch something at the same time; and an even better thing that I’ve discovered Castle — I’m on season 3 and loving that Amazon has these on their “instant download”. Knitting: Just finished the design for Pervenche Poncho, a gorgeous lace poncho (and will publish today … here’s the link to Ravelry … and I’ve also posted it on Craftsy if you’re not on Ravlery) . I’m very proud of this one and love the way it turned out.
Yesterday, while waiting for the sample garment yarn to show up, I started Chroi Thine (“hearts on fire”), a cowl in a hand-dyed worsted — the yarn and design came together quickly; now it just needs a button and we’re good to go! Don’t you love the color? Since I don’t want to start a big project right now, I’ve resurrected the cashmere vest (a design that has become a four-letter word around here!) to fiddle with until the yarn comes … I hope it comes soon.
