I’ve been in a shawl-knitting mode lately and have two new designs to show you ….

1. Spirit of the Southwest … a shawl that brings the colors of the Southwest to you from the hand-dyed yarns of Hazel Knits! This shawl used three skeins (about 600 yards) of Splish Splash and 1 skein (about 320 yards) of Federal to create this beauty …

2. Helen’s Choice … a perfectly purple poncho … was designed for Helen, the sister of the woman who breeds cashmere goats. This yarn, marketed under the Spring Gate Farm’s label, is a blend of cashmere (50%), silk (25%), and merino (25%) … and is just as luscious to knit with as it is to wear!
