Marion, her dh Dick and Thomas winning the best in show for the 4th of July parade, 2010!

… for a dear friend, Marion Pronk, who died on Sunday morning of cancer. She was Thomas’ very first director and convinced me to become a stage manager for her community theater plays … she also convinced me to join and then become secretary of the Lake Youth Foundation … she also convinced me to get involved in many, many things. She was Thomas’ mentor and got Maggie and JP up on stage multiple times. She was a former school teacher, mom of five and grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 1. She always said “family comes first” and yet she gave her all to every play she directed or acted in or helped produce.

Marion was 82 years old and yet you’d never know. Marion, who went to the fitness center every day … who practiced dance steps when the plays were being choreographed … who always went the extra mile for all.

She will be greatly missed by our family … but especially by Thomas (who has known her since he was 9) and me …

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord
And may the perpetual light shine upon her
May her soul
And the souls of all the faithful departed
Rest in peace. Amen.

Thomas and JP will serve for her funeral … and me and mine will be in the pews, sobbing for the loss of a dear friend but knowing that she is in a much better spot!

Please keep Marion, her husband of 60 years and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild in your prayers.

Hug those you love and respect and tell them just how much you love them … I pray Marion knows just how much she was loved!
