St. Andrew Novena Prayer

St. Andrew Novena Prayer

This is a wonderful novena prayer that I’ve prayed off and on for years … not that I always get the answer I WANT, but I certainly always get an answer. This particular novena prayer is prayed 15 times each day from today, November 30th, until Christmas Eve.

It is uber powerful and a wonderful practice … I find that remembering to pray it 15 times each day, helps me focus on the true meaning of Christmas. The line that always strikes me is “in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold.” Somehow, that “piercing cold” always reminds me of Christ’s humility … to be God and yet willing to be born a poor, helpless baby in a dark, cold place.

Wow!
