Did ya miss me?
Last Sunday (June 29) … we headed out uber early for a week’s vacation. With two teens and a tween, it can be quite difficult to eke out a week of relaxing and enjoying but we managed to schedule last week as our vacation-week.

The first few days were spent with amazing friends (who are more like family) in Raleigh, North Carolina. We lived down there for a few years, and these folks were our across-the-street neighbors … and we miss them so very much! Had a great time hanging with them at their community pool, watching swim lessons, almost setting the deck on fire with our cookout, and just enjoying catching up.

Then we headed to the North Carolina mountains. Did you know there are two kind of NC folks? Beach folks and mountain folks … we are definitely MOUNTAIN folks! We stayed in a great condo in Banner Elk … lake with paddle boats, fishing and putt-putt … and near the gorgeous mountains that rarely get above the 80s in the summer.

We ended our vacation, visiting dh’s family in the Clemson area of South Carolina. The Upstate is a wonderful spot for family to gather up and enjoy each other. After the minimal effects of Hurricane Arthur … we had gorgeous, low-humidity, days (and nights) of outdoor eating and playing.

Hard to come back … but lots to do with camps for the kiddoes … work for the kiddoes … and on and on …. But, all worth it.

We are so very blessed.
