Good morning! After two days of snowdays (and temps hovering around zero), dh and HamBone headed back to school today. It’s currently (0700) 21 degrees and crystal clear … supposed to get up to 42, a veritable heat wave. Still lots of snow on the ground but the roads look dry.

It’s Ash Wednesday, the start of the Lenten journey to Easter. As I get older, I realize the great blessings inherent in this journey: I am forced to slow down, to be more deliberate about meal-planning and scheduling, to spend time musing on my journey to Heaven … and what I need to amend in my own life to ensure the path is a bit straighter and less circuitous. Many folks “give up” something — which I do, too — but I have found that when I add things (such as prayer time in the morning … musing over the readings of the day before bed) the Lenten journey is more fruitful and beneficial.
